Ten or TEN is an experiment/ambient band
from Leeds and London England which is led by musicians Dominic Deane and
Jonny Fryer. Ten started out as a solo project in April 2009 by Dominic
Deane.

Ten had his gigging debut in June 2009 at the City Screen in York. Ten’s
sound combines electronic keys, shoegaze noise and percussion with the
acoustic sounds of glockenspiel and a string quartet to create a beautiful
sound-scape that moves from slow, eerie and melancholic to pulsating and
optimistic. Ten have toured extensively around the UK, Europe and the
United States, having performed with Stuart
Braithwaite of Mogwai, Vessels, The Declining Winter and Codes in the
Clouds. With a revolving cast of guest musicians Ten’s current live band is
Dominic Deane Jonny fryer and sometimes Viola player Angela Chan.Ten
released there first record ‘Journeys’ which was recorded at York
University with a live string quartet in June 2009. This first release was
well received by both local and national press. The album was released on
digital and CD formats notably on North East label ‘Cathedral
Transmissions’ and ‘Owls’ Label based in Perth, Australia

In April 2010 a spilt EP with American band ‘Finneyerkes’ was released with
some of the tracks featuring from the ‘Journeys’ record and released by
Manchester label 'Heat Death Records'.

On the 18th of October 2010 ‘Ten’ released a new six track EP entitled
‘Lowlands' Its a homage to the nature sounds of the fens in Cambridgeshire,
its a slightly different direction in sound combining stripped back
analogue sounds with blends of acoustic and classical instruments. This
long awaited EP was released on all digital formats and on limited handmade
screen printed CD’s on ‘Monday 18th of October 2010’.

ist ein experimenteller Musiker und Medienkünstler aus Hamburg. In seinen
elektronischen Improvisationen nutzt er das Klangmaterial verschiedener
analoger Synthesizer, Filter, Verzerrer und anderer Boutique-Effekte, um
sich so seinem ästhetischen Bezug zu musikalischen Genres wie Japanoise,
Drone oder Ambient zu nähern.

Seit 2009 erprobt er seine Musik im öffentlichen Vortrag und teilte seitdem
die Bühne mit Künstlern wie Preslav Literary School, Pete Um, Romano Krzych
und Felix Kubin.
