Was wird er tun, vorführen ... nichts wird an dieser Stelle verraten, auf

Heizungs- und Gasgeräuschen: Unbeirrbar durchwandern die Partikel 
verschiedene Lebenszonen, gleich einer Spritze, die die schützende Haut 
durchsticht. Die daraus resultierende Musik gleicht einer radioaktiven

Vicki Bennett 

"Are you...are you the monster? - I am uglier! - Uglier? - I am the ugliest 
thing in the world...I am the most fearful thing in the world!" tönt es von 
Vicki Bennetts neuer CD People Like Us Hate People Like You, auf der alle nur 
erdenklichen Musikstile und Sprachzitate miteinander
gekreuzt werden. Titel wie "Yodel Bomber", "Fylfot FlipFlop", Disc Rape" und 
"Ursula fährt Ski" sprechen für sich. Letzteres Stück entstammt einer 
Schulungsplatte für Engländer, die deutsch lernen möchten. Für ihre 
Verfremdung des Originals hat Vicki Bennett - nach rein phonetischen 
Aspekten, da sie kein deutsch versteht - Fragmente einer Ski-Episode aus
dem ursprünglichen Zusammenhang herausgelöst, vertauscht, 
übereinandergelagert und z.T. rückwärts wieder abgespielt. Das Endergebnis 
wirkt so grotesk und zerfasert, daß man meint, einer Mischung aus 
Schulmächenreport, Heimatfilm und Horrortrip zuzuhören 
Die Waffen im Kampf gegen Kommerz und Gleichschaltung wurden paradoxerweise 
von der Großindustrie selbst zur Verfügung gestellt: sie heißen Sampler, 
Taperecorder, Minidisc und Video und stellen allesamt billig zu erwerbende 
Reproduktionsmedien dar, die sich ideal für
Sabotagezwecke mißbrauchen lassen.

Klangkrieg 

KLANGKRIEG verarbeitet in futuristischer Tradition das Rauschen der Großstadt 
und das Flüstern der Hochspannungsleitungen zu elektroakustischen 
Kompositionen, die auf digitalen und analogen Tonträgern dokumentiert werden. 
In den Musikstücken liegen Brutalität und
Zurückhaltung dicht beieinander, künstliche und konkrete Geräusche werden
in harten Schnitten oder feinen Übergängen zusammenmontiert. 
In ihrer fast fünfzehnzehnjährigen Schaffensphase haben KLANGKRIEG auf 
verschiedenen Labels Musik veröffentlicht, auf internationalen 
Kunstausstellungen (Multi-mediale/ZKM Karlsruhe, ArtGENDA/Kopenhagen usw.) 
Klanginstallationen präsentiert, Europa-weit elektronische Konzerte gegeben 
und Musik zu Film und Theater geschrieben.


Disastronout : 



In the coming century the "aesthetics of imperfection" are emerging.  
Disastronaut are the masters of mistakes.  A ruptured, chaotic, sound of 
disaster. The errors are what matter. We are trash collectors. We co-run a 
label with Mat Consume called TRASH.  We recycle noise - susbsist on the  
remains - transforming stray technological parts intended for the cultural 
and industrial trash heaps into sources of pleasure and power.

This is erotic; it is the pause one takes during pleasures of sex, the pause 
that breaks the rhythm of passion, so that one may gaze at what is 
happening. Look at the tangled bodies and feel not so much the physical 
contact between warm flesh, but the aura of sex: its invisible traces, its 
emanations. We know exactly where to break a song so that we fall into the 
hole of it, into the blackness with the sensation of descending on a fast 
elevator. Indeed the hole is "le petit mort," as the French, and later the 
Victorians ("the little death") called an orgasm; it is a sudden release 
from structure, from the body, from the burden of being, into pure and warm 
nothingness.

We are also concerned with political and social struggles in the UK as well 
as support, by any means,  for groups and individuals outside. The events we 
promote and our club, the LIFT in Brighton, are designed for critical 
intervention and public access for all. We attempt to engender the qualities 
we feel are lacking and promote those things that will. Radical meetings of 
scientists, writers, musicians, poets, sex workers, visionaries, 
ecowarriors, pranksters, outcasts, situationists, performance artsts, 
programmers, jammers, hackers and freaks are sought. Renegade Science, DJ 
Dead's creation, pushed this idea further - combining all above in a endless 
festival.

Live shows tend to be energetic [one Paris venue accidently caught 
fire...ooops.]
frenetic and ecclectic. Location / Local  recording on the day are used in 
the night's performance - we also encourage local musicians/  experimentors 
/ producers / ranters / ravers / anyone - amateur or professional - to join 
us on stage - to interviene in the process of performace and delivery.

This is post everything expression - the sound of disasters - the writing of 
disasters - the sound of resistance and refusal - the hypothesis of noise 
and the power of silence - this is the sound of the new Century - Chaotic - 
Meaningless - Directionless - Sampled - Recycled - Distorted - Fucked Up - 
Outside - Formless - and devistatingly wonderful for it...This is the force 
of the INSTANT IMPERFECTION.


The members of Disastronaut are now:

DJ Disastronaut - a filmmaker, writer, painter, producer and promoter. Has 
made 24 LPs to date under different guises - now signed to TRASH records and 
555 records of Sheffield - UK. He was born in Ohio, USA on June 22, 1968 - a 
bastard - on the summer solstice, amid the summer of love -there is nothing 
else to say...

DJ DEAD - Many DJs 'die the death' on a bad night - only one lives it!
DJ dead sadly passed away around the same time as the rave dream was 
brutally murdered by the stamping of hardcore proletarians and the 
constrictions of bullshit progressive leather waistcoats. Le mort de la 
jouissance, both petty and grand, was marked with clothing stains and 
fireworks; it was simultaneously noted on six continents that the earth had 
indeed moved a number of miles. People continued to party and complain, 
seemingly oblivious to the merciless rearrangements of the elements of their 
culture by the forces of age and aging. DJ dead himself didn't mind the 
indifference, for he was fully aware of the validity of death as a career 
move (ask Jimi & Janis - actually not such good examples, as they are 
currently slogging around the South Coast toilet gig circuit); he allowed 
himself to fragment with the movement, and thus to survey unfeasibly broad 
sections of the unfolding psychogeography of pockets of bass-related 
crypto-autonomy within the ever more voluptuous folds of the the global 
globular superclub libidinal economy. Fragmentation, as we all know, does 
not necessarily aid in the developing of a fully functional DJ ego - indeed, 
for most it is a function of the aftermath of that ego's flatulant 
destruction, so our hero decided on the creation of two mantras. The first 
belonged to the realm of folk wisdom: "either 'egos or i go!" - with the 
power of the first mantra 'e came and 'e went without a single dent, and 
people decided he was gone, far gone, a goner. The second came from the 
esoteric realm of the DeSadean aristocrats [Duran Duran and Shut Up And 
Dance]: "I will return the stronger man" - and lo, thus did DJ dead return 
the stronger man, for yea the stronger man had stopped working yet was still 
under warranty. And thus was DJ dead marked as a difficult consumer, and 
thus was he credit blacklisted by a legion of fictitious organisations. 
Despite this, and despite anal English taboos about employing the 
non-living, dead has prospered in the world of the undead (that'd be 
shadowlands, Brighton, then...) and plays regularly at the Lift club, as 
well as guesting at the likes of Defunkt (r.i.p), Gogglez and Cafe Expose in 
Brighton, and Sonik Mook Experiment in London. He likes presents, the taste 
of skin and all food that's good; he dislikes quite a few people. His style 
is known by the music media as "boy playing records loud", by his fans as 
"heaven", and by the self-effacing side of himself as "mildly talented 
gobshite on the gravy train". Not that that affects your opinion, we hope...

Greg Reed - one of the most formidable death metal guitarists in the world - 
guitarist of CEREMONY [signed world wide to Hammerhart records - new LP out 
now worldwide] - and DJ Disastronaut's younger brother - has worked with / 
recorded with Voi Vod, Cannibal Corpse, Vital Remains, Morbid Angel, Sub 
Vinyl, Bootsy Collins, Beaver County, Brujo and others - is now producing 
and composing in Brighton, England.

Mat Consume - founder and boss of TRASH records. He is the noisiest mother 
fucker we know and the nicest. Sampler & Body.

Romy - a singer in the band LOLITA STORM [dhr] she plays with Disastronaut 
as JOAN OF ASS...and Carrie - part two of our up front sexual assault...

We also have many collaborators including: No Copilot, The User, DJ 
Paedophile, 2nd Gen, Chuck Shite, Nil, Peter Hope-Evans [Medicine Head], 
Project Dark, Janek Shaefer,  Cristian Vogel, Pilote, Moa Deeb, The Silent 
Sound System, Lolita Storm, Key Kepper and Tempos, Scheme and PTH - who 
often join in our mayhem.

I started in the early 80ies to make my own sound. At first I was influenced 
by the aesthetics of Futurismen and Dada - an antistatement of society and 
music. Franz de Waard (Vital, Kip, Staalplaat) called it as some of the 
hardest music in Europe- Some years later I discover the possibilitie of 
natural sound phenomenia.  - the sturcture and signals of being there.
Then I started my own record label with smartman Stickel: "Wachsender Prozeß" 
for noise culture based sounds. Together with Günter Reznicek and Felix Knoth 
publication of a magazine (Odradek) about electroacustic and electronic music 
and production of a two weekly radio programm (Radio Gagarin) dealing with 
experimental music. Realisation of own short films and activ as DJ 
(Nachtschwestern/FSK) and Soundmixer. A new project with Jan Iwers aka No 
called Freie hand was born in 1999 for exploration of rhythmical biological 
structures in electronic sound manipulation.

(Stipendium der Kulturbehörde HH), Teil der Hörbar und der makrame-gruppe des 
radio gagarin und manchmal Tonträgerauflegen (Tanzdiele, AstraStube, Egal 
Bar, Stubnitz, Ultraschall ...)... verwirrt sie.

erstes Manifest der Klangalchemie


Alles ist Schwingung. Einige Manifestationen dieser Schwingungen nennen wir 
Metalle. Schon die Alchemisten früherer Jahrhunderte benutzten für ihre 
Versuche Metalle. Sie wollten, so sagt man, Gold gewinnen. Bei den Mystikern 
unter ihnen war Gold jedoch eher die Umschreibung für die Erleuchtung der 
Seele, die sie zu erlangen versuchten.
Als moderner Klangalchemist verwende ich auch Metall. Durch Reibung ( Reibung 
erzeugt Wärme, Wärme ein Indiz für Wandlung ) werden die Stoffe von mir in 
Schwingungen versetzt, welche dann in den hörbaren Bereich transformiert 
werden, und beim geneigten Hörer Vergoldungen der Seele vornehmen können. .
